De MG TD is niet alleen een bijzonder stijlvolle en schitterende klassieker om te zien, maar ook heerlijk om mee te rijden. Zoals eigenlijk alle MG’s, is ook de TD een erg gebruikersvriendelijke klassieke auto. Als opvolger van de MG TC, kwam de TD in 1950 op de markt en werd geproduceerd tot 1953. Deze schitterende, in 1952 geproduceerde MG TD is oorspronkelijk geleverd naar de Verenigde Staten en is in de jaren 90 in Nederland gekomen. In Nederland heeft de auto slechts twee eigenaren gehad en de eerste eigenaar heeft deze MG TD zeer grondig en professioneel volledig laten restaureren. Tijdens deze restauratie is ook het originele motorblok en de versnellingsbak volledig gereviseerd. Deze MG TD is dus nog volledig ‘matching-numbers’. Hij heeft daarna de auto ongeveer 26 jaar in bezit gehad en heeft de auto met zeer veel liefde en zorg onderhouden. Dat is niet alleen zichtbaar uit de vele onderhoudsfacturen, maar vooral aan de auto zelf.

Deze schitterende MG TD is nog in bijzonder mooie conditie. De prachtige MG Red carrosseriekleur is niet alleen perfect voor deze stijlvolle roadster, maar heeft ook nog steeds een diepe glans en is in zeer goede staat. Ook de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen zijn nog in glanzende en zeer goede conditie. Dit is ook van toepassing op de verschillende rubberdelen en afwerkingen. De verchroomde spaakvelgen zijn schitterend om te zien en passen perfect bij deze MG TD. Dit geldt ook voor het stijlvolle verchroomde kofferrek, de badgebar aan de voorzijde en de extra verstralers aan de voorzijde. Deze extra’s maken de auto net even extra bijzonder. De zwarte cabrioletkap en de zijschermen zijn weinig gebruikt en in zeer goede (bijna nieuw)staat. Bij de auto is ook nog een tonneau aanwezig, eveneens in zeer goede conditie.

Het zwartlederen interieur vormt een perfecte combinatie met de rode carrosseriekleur en is in zeer goede staat. De stoelen zitten bijzonder goed en comfortabel en zijn in perfecte conditie. Dit is ook van toepassing op de zwarte interieurbekleding. Het dashboard is niet alleen schitterend om te zien, maar ook in bijzonder goede staat en alle instrumenten werken naar behoren. Het mooie grote stuurwiel is licht van kleur en past perfect bij dit interieur. Ook de verschillende chroom- en sierdelen in het interieur zijn nog in glanzende en goede conditie. Voor extra comfort is deze auto ook voorzien van twee kleine windscherm raampjes, die gemonteerd zijn aan de voorruit.

Onder de motorkap ligt het bekende 1250cc XPAG motorblok, die tijdens de restauratie in de jaren 90 volledig is gereviseerd. Het is duidelijk te merken dat alle techniek zeer goed is onderhouden. De motor loopt bijzonder soepel en rustig en heeft voldoende vermogen voor comfortabele en ontspannen toerritten. De auto schakelt en stuurt bijzonder soepel en ook de remmen voelen stevig en goed aan. Deze MG TD is een stijlvolle en schitterende roadster met nog de echte klassieke lijnen en dat maakt deze auto extra aantrekkelijk.
